Cindy Nibur has been teaching the 2s program at Hastings Nursery School since 1997. She studied psychology at SUNY at Stony Brook and earned her CDA (Child Development Associate) in 2005. Cindy enjoys working with the 2s because the children undergo huge social and language growth during this year and blossom before your eyes. She finds this age group magical. The Co-op is a school that helps children to become lifelong healthy, happy learners by helping them to respect themselves, their teachers, classrooms, and other children. She feels privileged to be a part of this community.

She has 12 years prior experience teaching in both private and public early education programs and holds a B.S. and M.S. in Early Childhood Education from NYU and Hunter College, respectively. Working at the Co-op affords her the opportunity to fulfill her strong commitment to early childhood education. In 1998, after completing her first master’s degree and spending a few years at another local school, Judy McQuistion began teaching the wonderful 4s at the Co-op. Looking to bring even more to the classroom, she went back to school for a second master’s degree in literacy studies. Her curiosity in nature and science and her love of learning have found the perfect home at the Co-op as every year brings new explorations to her classroom, depending only on where the children want to go. Because of her students, she now knows lots about outer space, ocean life, forests, rocks and dogs.
